The Mind Behind the Madness
Cryptic Paw is a small, creative brand created by Alice Cashman. Alice is a rather odd person, but all the best people are! As an extremely talented individual, Alice chose to chase her passion for creativity by learning new things and conjuring her inner art gremlin to craft items like drawings, doodles, poems, stories, resin art, candles, paintings, AI art, and video game code.
Additionally, Alice works as a professional voice actor! She went to college and earned a BA in Theatre Performance, along with Certificates in Film and Voice Acting, at Wichita State University. She has been in the voice acting industry for about 4 years, doing voiceover for e-learning, narration, commercials, audio dramas, videos, and character voices.
After Alice left college, she headed straight back into the world of academia and earned herself an AAS in Mortuary Science at Kansas City Kansas Community College, successfully passing the Arts and Science sections of the National Board Exam and acquiring a cremation license.
This is the part in her life where Alice decided to use her accumulated, eclectic knowledge and start her own freelancing brand. And here we are!
Why the Name “Cryptic Paw?”
Alice has many, many interests, so when it came to choosing a name for her brand, she wanted it to incorporate some of her favorite topics. Horror, cats, and puzzles were among her top contending topics, and from these themes, she crafted the name Cryptic Paw. The “Crypt-” included her horror, “cryptic” was a synonym for puzzling, and “paw” included her love for cats.
It is for the art-lovers and creators, the weird and chaotic, the outcasts and misfits, and the cats past, present, and future to which Cryptic Paw is dedicated.
